Simpson County is located in south central Mississippi, approximately 55 miles southeast of the State Capital of Jackson and two hours north of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The population is 27,503 [2010]. The County Seat is the City of Mendenhall. Simpson County, specifically the City of Magee, is located half way between the City of Jackson and the City of Hattiesburg. Within a 50-mile radius of Magee live over 824,000 persons, approximately 28% of the state’s total population.
